About the Dead Sea

The Dead Sea is a salt lake bordering Jordan, Israel, and the West Bank region of West Asia. It is about 42 miles long and 11 miles wide and its main tributary is the Jordan River. The Dead Sea is also know as the "Sea of Salt" and the "Sea of Death" its very high salinity results in a harsh environment.
